An Easter message from the Principal of Cobholm Primary Academy

April 3rd 2020

Dear families of Cobholm Primary Academy,

As we approach the Easter break I want to write a message to you all.

The end of the spring term has been one like we have never seen before. It has been a challenge for us all in many ways and we have had to face challenges that we have not faced before.

For some this period of school closure will bring disappointments – particularly for our Year 6s. There will be many traditional end-of-year celebrations that probably will not take place this year, for example our annual year 6 residential and leaver’s assembly. Fortunately we were able to hold our sports day before we closed.

Despite the uncertainty of the forthcoming weeks and months, we have much to celebrate as a school and as a community. We had many opportunities to come together as a Cobholm Primary Academy Family with our story cafes, ‘read with your child afternoons’, trips and a variety of assemblies and celebrations; including thanking our longstanding caretaker Mrs Spruce for all her hard work over the last 30 years.

Our staff have been delivering learning packs and food parcels to support those of you who were unable to leave your homes.

Our Inclusion team have been in touch with families to ensure they have the help and support they need.

We have identified and shared groups who can provide food parcels to those most in need at this time.

We are working with other local schools to ensure our families are supported

Pupils will hear me say to them Work Hard and Be Kind and this is true more than ever.

Our staff are working hard to produce a new pack of learning resources for after the Easter break and I am incredibly proud of all the staff team. Parents - I would like to thank you for supporting your children with their learning whilst at home.

It is our strength as a community that will get us through the times ahead. I have seen many rainbows displayed in windows and the symbol hope that comes from them.

We do not know how long our doors will be closed for but we are still here to support you during this time.

We do not know how long this will last but when it is over we are ready to open our doors once again to our wonderful Cobholm Family.

Wishing all a very safe Easter Break.

Take Care

Mrs Scott
